When I got involved in Politics at the local level, it was with the clear purpose of getting Women of Color elected to office. With hard work and dedication as a first time Campaign Manager and first time Candidate, we won by 15 votes against a 14 year incumbent. It was a truly rewarding experience, and taught me so much including the impact we can make at the local level.

Campaign work

While I am no stranger to politics, I understand that our district deserves a leader who puts the community first. With deep roots in Chattanooga, I have always been driven by a desire to serve and uplift the people around me.

I come from a hardworking family that taught me the value of education, resilience, and service. My dad, a proud graduate of Kirkland High School, worked at the Arcade Plant for decades, while my mom ran Chattanooga’s busiest emergency room. Their dedication to their work and their family shaped who I am today. My grandmother devoted her life to teaching, while my sisters have built incredible careers as an attorney and a pediatric nurse anesthetist. Watching the people I love work hard and care deeply about their communities inspired me to follow their example.

At 15, I took my first job in the restaurant industry, where I learned the importance of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. That experience carried me through high school and college, where I juggled working in food and beverage with my studies. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, focusing on research in human and primate behavior. Working with a professor and an orangutan who knew sign language taught me so much about communication and connection, lessons I still apply today.
